This program generates scramble missions for Microprose/SH Fleet Defender. It can be run by typing "scramble" and copying down the information (drag), or by typing "scramble > prn" which will send the information to your printer (assuming of course that you have a printer on line). This is a quick & dirty program that I wrote primarily for my own use, and thought other tomcat drivers might like to use. You will find that on average dawn, day, and dusk missions are generated about 86% of the time: night missions about 14% of the time. The probability of dawn, day or dusk missions are equal (about 0.28). I've tried to not let the allies have too much of an advantage (you will never outnumber the enemy). On the other hand, they shouldn't outnumber your side by more than 2 to 1. Also, there will never be more than about an 8,000 ft difference in starting altitude for the two sides. (Try a mission when you are separated by 39,000 ft to find out why). All other selections are uniformly distributed among the possible choices. Of course, the computer seems to have a mind of its own... The two times that F-16's were selected out of about a dozen runs, they were piloted by Ace's. Enjoy. -Jerry Trzeciakowski (71034,1232)
